The Boeing CompanyThe Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) 787 Program is seeking a qualified Lean Practitioner Manager (Level K) to lead a team of process improvement experts supporting continuous improvement efforts for the Program. You will be located in North Charleston, South Carolina.
You will be responsible for managing a team of Lean Practitioners and Kaizen Technicians, positioned to use Boeing Lean tools, processes, and methodologies to enable Production System performance, improve First Pass Quality, reduce flow, and increase employee engagement.
You will also work as part of your assigned business unit's leadership team, partnering with key stakeholders to design and execute the overall Process Improvement and Lean strategy to enable Rate performance.
The leader should have a demonstrated track record of:
Appropriate use of Lean tools to address production system opportunities
Stakeholder alignment and management - earning trust and delivering on commitment
Effective communication and planning skills
People focus - growing and developing teammates and peers
Position Responsibilities:
Manages employees performing Program improvement strategies for production system, supplier system, and so forth
Develops and executes project and process plans, implements policies and procedures and sets operational goals
Acquires resources for projects and processes, provides technical management of suppliers and leads process improvements
Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and employees
Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes
Manages, coaches, leads, develops and motivates employees
Possesses a mindset of safety, quality, continuous improvement & teamwork; Influences the team to exhibit Boeing Values and Behaviors
Boeing First-Line Leader Assessment:

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills / Experience):
Candidates must have at least one year of experience in a leadership role (team leader, temp manager, large scale cross functional project/program management, or formal manager experience) OR have completed the Boeing internal course 'Exploring Leadership
5+ years of experience implementing lean principles in a production system
5+ years of experience working with cross-functional teams on projects & initiatives
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Bachelor’s degree or higher
3+ years of management experience
5+ years of experience coaching in an operations environment influencing others
5+ years of experience in Lean Workshop leadership (e.g. Accelerated Improvement Workshop, Value Stream Mapping, Autonomous Maintenance Workshop)
5+ years of experience developing and deploying departmental/organizational strategies
5+ years of project/program management experience

Shift:
This position is for a variable shift (shift 4). Variable shift means you will be assigned a shift at time of hire based on business needs. You will remain on your assigned work shift until a re-evaluation is required. Shifts assigned for training may differ from your permanent work shift. However, this variable shift position will primarily support 1st shift.

Summary pay range: $116,450 - $157,550
