Position Summary:

The Outreach Coordinator is a role in the Division of the School of Arts and Sciences that is responsible for providing support for the Performing Arts Department (Music and Theatre). The position will play a key role in Recruiting, Events and Marketing -- planning, coordinating, and executing events while managing logistics, communications, and venue scheduling, creating and sharing promotional materials, managing a social media presence, digital content production, and supervising student staff to ensure smooth operations and community engagement.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Organize and coordinate music and theatre performances, including but not limited to Honor Choir, Select Band Clinic, Jazz Festival; plan rehearsals and staging needs, communicate requirements to venues, and confirm event details.
  • Manage Guest Artist visits, including contracts, schedules, itineraries, participant registration, and communications.
  • Support Performing Arts Department Chair in the coordinating, organizing, and/or staffing of on and off-campus recruitment events.
  • Promote and market events through print, radio, and digital channels; create promotional materials (playbills, programs, posters, newsletters), maintain event webpages, and collaborate with MarComm on designs.
  • Manage social media accounts for Theatre and Music; create event posts and maintain patron contact lists.
  • Serve as point of contact for community outreach and ensure consistent communication year-round.
  • Oversee Jones and Theatre Hall spaces, including reservations, unlocking doors, coordinating with campus police, and maintaining venue calendars; prepare invoices and contracts for external users.
  • Coordinate with external users year-round on the sharing of performance spaces and equipment.
  • Maintain multi-year event schedules and finalize contracts and payments for venues (primarily Community Concert Hall).
  • Hire, train, schedule, and supervise work-study students.
  • Set up video streaming and manage digital content for music recitals; ensure all materials meet accessibility standards.
  • Respond to department emails and provide information to students, visitors, faculty, and staff.
  • Collaborate with faculty, students, and colleagues; attend department and production meetings.
  • Coordinate with other departments as needed.
  •  Maintains knowledge and awareness of digital accessibility including the American with Disabilities Act and Section 508.
  • Produces and remediates digitally accessible materials in accordance with FLC standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Required Education, Specialized Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a related field or four years work experience in related field in lieu of Bachelor’s degree
  • At least one year of related work experience
  • Adobe InDesign or similar graphic design software
  • Experience using Microsoft Office 365

Preferred Education, Specialized Skills and Experience:

  • Strong collaborative, communication and organizational skills
  • Budgeting experience
  • Knowledge of theatre and/or music production
  • Strong communication or problem-solving skills
  • Experience working with a diverse group of individuals, including students

Reports To / Supervisory Responsibility:

This position reports to the Chair of the Department of Performing Arts

Travel:

Less than 5% travel is expected for this position 

FLSA Status/ Position Type/Expected Hours of Work/ and Salary Range:

  • Exempt 
  • Part Time .83 FTE.
  • 10 Month Position.  
  • Typical work hours are Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm

Salary

The salary range is 40,255 to $44,405 , plus a comprehensive benefits package
