JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Equipment and Supplies Maintenance- Build and/or assemble special adaptive and complex electrical equipment and their components. Evaluates individuals and suggests appropriate accessories and recommend design changes to meet the patient's special needs. Gathers information, perform calculations and provide routine and non-routine repairs and maintenance of custom wheelchairs and their components. Serve as a resource to others.

  • Customer Service- Interact with customers in a courteous, attentive and conscientious manner. Instruct patients, families and caregivers in the use and maintenance of prescription wheelchairs and all associated equipment. Make recommendations on the proper fitting and adaptations as necessary to meet the patient's special needs. Respond to patients/referral source requests, questions and complaints in a timely manner.

  • Fiscal Responsibility- Demonstrates an understanding of the cost management process, and the impact of this process on the department. Serve as a liaison with CSR's for charge entry. Possesses and maintains a comprehensive knowledge base of all Medicaid and third-party payers guidelines for reimbursement.

  • Business Planning- Assist in the development and presentation of business plans and strategies for expansion of services. Assist in implementation of new and expanded services. Market existing programs to internal and external referral sources.

  • Training and Development- Assist in the orientation, training and development opportunities for department members. Assist in the development of departmental processes, including quality and safety.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Preferred: Associate's degree in related field or equivalent

  • 2+ years of work experience in a related job discipline OR equivalent combination of education and experience

  • RESNA ATP certification
