Our summer internship program is an excellent opportunity to tie what you have learned in the classroom into real-world experience.  The program consists of an 11-week immersion into Werner Enterprises.

Internship Overview:

Responsibilities:

• Dive into every aspect of logistics and supply chain management, working directly with our customers and overseeing their shipments from start to finish. You’ll become the single point of contact for customer service across Dedicated, Intermodal, Truckload, and more.
• Analyze, negotiate, and determine the best transportation solutions for our customers—leveraging our innovative tech platform, Hoptek, to identify optimal freight to bid on and negotiate rates.
• Individually manage all service for assigned customers, working across Dedicated Backhaul, One Way, Intermodal, and Power Only. You’ll be responsible for making sure every shipment goes smoothly.
• Work directly with customers, lead quarterly and annual business reviews, and become their trusted logistics advisor.
• Track and present key metrics like Service, Tender Acceptance, Award to Actual, and Billing Accuracy to both your team and our customers.
• Train and educate our admin optimization team on customer-specific processes to ensure flawless execution and billing.
• Take the lead on any billing issues and ensure our customers are satisfied and our revenue is protected.
• Own reporting and housekeeping for your assigned accounts, managing an average of 100 shipments in transit and making sure each one gets from start to finish successfully.
