Join our Nursing team and make a difference at a great and expanding community based hospital, Montefiore Mount Vernon. The hospital is part of Montefiore Einstein, a premier academic health system serving more than 3 million people living in the New York City region and Hudson Valley. We have a fantastic opportunity for an Administrative Nurse Manager, Operating Room to join our staff. Montefiore is doing more to deliver science driven care where, when and how patients need it most offering patients state of the art healthcare close to home.

Position Summary:

The Administrative Nurse Manager, Operating Room participates in performance improvement/research activities; maintains professional practice standards and clinical expertise; demonstrates leadership skills; and demonstrates core and unit specific competencies based on the patient population served.

The manager has a 24 hour responsibility for the supervision, scheduling, hiring, firing and performance appraisal of nursing and ancillary associates within one or more Surgical specialties in the Operating Room. Coordinates other activities including but not limited to inventory management, budgeting and performance improvement activities in order to promote efficient/effective operations and quality patientcare. Demonstrates leadership and clinical expertise in area (s) of responsibility. Responsible for developing and maintaining competence of assigned associates.

Education and Requirements:

• Masters Degree from an accredited program required or must be registered in a Master's program with projected graduation date in three years of position acceptance
• Valid NYS Nursing License
• Minimum of 5 years clinical experience along with progressive management experience
• BLS/ACLS/Infection Control Certifications
• C.N.O.R Certification
• Membership in A.O.R.N
