Job Summary

Employee will be working independently and closely with Supervisor and co-workers as required. This position entales knowledge of varied equipment, medical technology and specific handling skills of chemicals and specimens. Employee must be comfortable to follow directions. Working hours and schedule will be assigned on the rotation basis by the selection supervisor in advance. Generally, working hours are between 7:00 am and 5:30 pm Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the position without compromising client care.

Essential Functions

• Performs Routine processing of Tissue samples
• Preparation of supplies for sectioning
• Preparation of Specimens for Staining
• Chemicals: Safety of and Uses for
• Working Knowledge of Pathology equipment
• Laboratory Safety and Quality Control protocols
• Organization of the working tools in a Pathology Department environment

Qualifications

• AS Preferred
• High School Required
• 1-3 years 1 year of experience
• I year full time experience in Histopathology under the direction of a Board Certified Pathologist. Technician must have a good understanding Histopathology technique and be able to operate the relevant Lab equipment as detailed in 5.
• Clinical Laboratory Technologist Required
