Job Summary

Responsible for accurate and timely follow up on all primary and secondary insurance balances to ensure payments are received in accordance to the Payer policy and/or Hospital contracts.


Qualifications

  • High School Required
  • AA or AS Preferred
  • Minimum two years recent hospital or physician billing with experience in all major payers Required
  • Experience with electronic claims submission and be well organized Required
  • Knowledge of UB04, CPT and ICD-10 required as well as specific knowledge in one of these areas of billing CMS, Medicaid, BC and/or Commercial.
  • Must have HISS system knowledge, Meditech and nThrive preferred.
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office, with a required skill of writing appeal letters in Microsoft Word.
  • Able to read, write, and communicate in English.
  • Medical Billing or Patient Financial Services Certification Required
  • Certification of Billing, PFS or coding through credited bodies such as HFMA, AHIMA, HBI, etc within 90 Days Required
