The Recorder’s Office IT Intern is a short-term position designed to provide hands-on experience to a degree-seeking student. The IT Intern will support project coordination, business analysis, and quality assurance activities within a government office. Reporting to the Chief Information Officer, the intern will support key technology initiatives that enhance efficiency and innovation within the office.
About Us
The Maricopa County Recorder’s Office (MCRO) is responsible for maintaining the Maricopa County voter registration records and for administering over elections in partnership with the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors. The MCRO also maintains the permanent public record of over 50 million documents dating back to 1871, including deeds, plat maps, and a variety of other important documents. Our office serves over 2.5 million registered voters as well as 4.4 million residents across Maricopa County. The MCRO offers a friendly, welcoming, and collaborative environment with opportunities to grow and develop new skills.

Working Conditions
This position is primarily office-based within the Recorder’s Office, with the potential for some remote work opportunities depending on project needs. The intern will collaborate with IT staff, administrative personnel, and leadership in a professional, fast-paced government setting. Work may involve sitting for extended periods, working on a computer, and participating in occasional meetings or presentations.
Selection Procedure - Maricopa County
The Maricopa County Human Resources Department reserves the right to admit to the selection process only those candidates considered to be the most highly qualified. Those selected will be assessed based on the evaluation of listed education and experience. The hiring authority will interview and select the successful candidate from a list provided by Human Resources.
