As a condition of employment all employees must pass a post offer physical examination and drug screen. And submit proof of identity and employment eligibility.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
This position will be responsible for routine professional social service and law enforcement type duties in the areas of assessing criminogenic needs, supervision plan development, treatment referrals, and on-going monitoring of probationer behavior. Supervision services are provided within the community with the goal of increasing public safety through the reduction of future criminal behavior. Duties include: managing a caseload of adult felons; utilizing motivation interviewing skills to complete a scientific assessment of criminogenic risk/needs; identifying probationer stages of change in addressing identified needs; making referrals to appropriate treatment interventions and/or programs targeting primary criminogenic needs; monitoring probationer activity to ensure adherence to action steps collaboratively developed in supervision planning and to court-ordered conditions; engaging in on-going support for probationers within the community by assisting in identifying a network of family, friends, and support others with prosocial orientations; identifying pro-social interests and activities geared towards improving bonds and ties to pro-social community members; preparing reports concerning activities, provide recommendations and maintain documentation relating to management of probationer caseloads; monitoring payment of financial obligations ordered by the courts ; monitoring urinalysis results and follow-up with probationer accordingly; providing appropriate dosage of services according to responsivity; and applying sanctions and/or incentives swiftly and appropriately.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's Degree with a major in criminal justice, social welfare, psychology or other related human services field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above. Preferred skills would include familiarity with evidence-based practices in supervising probationers; community resources, counseling techniques, and motivational interviewing; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with community, families, service agencies and other support systems to assist with employment issues; ability to motivate probationers to change anti-social behaviors; manage a substantial caseload; provide court testimony; communicate effectively orally and in writing; to understand and implement evidence-based practices relative to community supervision of probationers; and to use electronic technology in the supervision and case management of probationers. Must have a valid driver’s license and car insurance.
