MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:
1. Associate Degree from Anesthesiology Technology Program AND one (1) year experience as an Anesthesia Tech
OR High School Diploma or Equivalent AND two (2) years’ experience as an Anesthesia Tech
2. Obtain Certification in BLS within 30 days of hire date
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:
1. Cer.A.T (Certified Anesthesia Technician) OR Cer.A.T.T. (Certified Anesthesia Technologist) through the American Society of Anesthesia Technologists and Technicians.
Additional Job Description:
QUALIFICATIONS: High school graduate or equivalent. Anesthesia Technician Certification preferred. Must possess effective communication and critical thinking skills. Prefer some college and/or knowledge of medical terminology and the computer. Previous Operating Room or Anesthesia Tech experience preferred. Other courses or on-the-job training programs that provide patient care knowledge and skills will be considered individually. Medical/clerical background. Prefer one (1) year experience in patient care. Computer literate. Good customer service skills and teamwork attitude. Must be BLS certified.
WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
1. Use a computer keyboard, monitor and mouse.
2. Answer telephones and transcribe messages.
3. Communicate verbally, written and electronically with healthcare personnel, families and patients.
4. May be scheduled to work various shifts based on departmental and patient needs.
5. May be required to travel between facilities/buildings.
6. Must meet Department of Labor’s MEDIUM duty standard (MEDIUM WORK- exerting up to 50 pounds of force
occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly).
7. Able to bend, stoop, reach and be capable of normal rotation, standing and walking for an 8-10 hour shift.
8. May be scheduled to work various shifts based on departmental and patient needs.
9. May be required to travel between facilities/buildings.
10. May be exposed to virus, disease, and infection from patients and specimens in working environment.
11. May be exposed to traumatic situations including psychiatric crisis, physical injuries and death.
12. Must meet Department of Labor’s MEDIUM duty standard (MEDIUM WORK- exerting up to 50 pounds of force
occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly).
13. Able to bend, stoop, reach and be capable of normal rotation, standing and walking for an 11-12 hour shift.
14. Able to lift 40 pounds from floor to waist.
15. Able to ambulate, position, turn and pull up self-assisting adult patients.
16. This position may require unsupervised access to restricted areas that may contain medications, supplies and patient confidential information.
