MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:
1. Must possess Radiological Technologist license through the West Virginia Board of Radiologic Technologists.
2. Registered in Radiography by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
3. Registered in Computed Tomography with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT).
4. CPR certification.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
EXPERIENCE:
1. One (1) year of imaging experience.
2. Nine (9) months of computed tomography experience.
CORE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The statements described here are intended to describe the general nature of work being performed by people assigned to this position. They are not intended to be constructed as an all-inclusive list of all responsibilities and duties. Other duties may be assigned.
1. Prepares patient for radiographic examinations; explains procedures prior to testing and answers patient questions relating to ordered exam.
2. Positions patients properly according to type of protocol examinations; selects proper equipment and supplies for patients and provides radiation protection during examinations.
3. Follows established protocols and post processing procedures.
4. Is responsible for reporting any equipment that is not in proper working condition to the director or manager so they can call for service.
5. Maintains supplies in clean and sterile conditions; transports contaminated instruments and devices to Central Processing for proper sterilization. Ensures accurate charging.
6. Instructs and cross-trains new technicians in proper methods and procedures regarding routine diagnostic exams performed in the Radiology department.
7. Performs sterile and isolation techniques; follows all OSHA standards.
8. Performs various routine exams and procedures established by radiologists.
9. Maintains continuing education on procedures and techniques in order to perform examinations of high quality. Complies with the advanced certification requirements and is registered in CT. Follows ALARA. This will be reviewed on a yearly bases.
10. Maintains work area in a clean and orderly condition to prevent spread of infection or disease to patients, visitors and personnel.
11. Properly assesses patient information on electronic medical record system. Charges, changes, adds information as necessary to keep records accurate. Can assess patient lab records, etc as needed through system. Logs off after using computer and is also responsible for verifying pre-certification of insurance for procedures that require it. Ensures all completed images are on PACS.

2. Must be able to lift, move, and position patients of all weights, with varying amounts of assistance in a fair manner on a regular and recurring basis; exerting in excess of 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
3. Hearing and visual acuity must be within normal range.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
1. Knowledge of growth and development, understanding of the patient’s needs and scope of treatment.
2. Understands the dynamics for each patient incorporating biophysical, bio-psychosocial, environmental, self-care, educational, spiritual, cultural, ethical and discharge planning needs.
3. Knowledge of total care of patients, whose disease is not responsive to curative treatment, focusing on the control of pain and other symptoms.
