Who You’ll Work With

The Information Technology organization is the technological foundation of our business and works in collaboration with our partners from across the company. The team drives technology and digital transformation, partners with business leaders to design and execute new strategies through IT and operations services and ensures the necessary IT risk management and security measures are in place and aligned with enterprise architecture standards and principles. 

About The Role

We are looking for a forward-thinking and technically adept Technology Lead to drive transformation across our digital servicing platforms for retirement plan participants and retail investors. This role is central to creating seamless, personalized, and secure digital experiences that empower individuals to manage their retirement accounts and investment portfolios with confidence. The ideal candidate brings a strong background in digital platform delivery within retirement services and wealth management, with a proven track record of enabling exceptional customer experiences through modern technology.

Responsibilities

Technology Leadership & Digital Transformation:

  • Lead the design and delivery of scalable digital solutions that enhance participant and retail investor self-service, transaction processing, and digital engagement.
  • Drive modernization initiatives across mobile, web, and contact center platforms using cloud-native, API-first, and microservices-based architectures.
  • Partner with stakeholders to prioritize features that improve the end-to-end user experience, such as simplified onboarding, retirement readiness tools, investment dashboards, and goal tracking.


Participant & Retail Investor Experience:

  • Own the technical strategy for servicing platforms that support:
    • Account management for 401(k), IRA, brokerage, and rollover accounts
    • Digital advice, managed accounts, and investment allocation tools
    • Personalized communications, alerts, and notifications across channels
  • Enhance user experiences with financial wellness, goal-based planning, and education tools tailored to individual needs.


Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with product owners, UX designers, and service teams to define solution requirements and deliver continuous improvements in the investor journey.
  • Lead Agile ceremonies (e.g., sprint planning, retrospectives) and mentor development teams on secure, performant, and compliant software delivery.


Technology Platform & Architecture Oversight:

  • Drive integration of investor platforms with recordkeeping systems, data services, authentication providers, and external financial tools.
  • Promote the use of reusable services, secure APIs, and CI/CD pipelines to ensure agility and scalability.


Compliance & Security:

  • Ensure all solutions comply with financial regulations (e.g., ERISA, SEC, FINRA) and internal standards for data protection, access control, and cybersecurity.
  • Support internal and external audits, as well as risk mitigation strategies.

Skills and Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (Master’s a plus).


Experience:

  • 7+ years of experience in technology leadership roles within retirement services, fintech, or wealth management.
  • Demonstrated success delivering digital servicing platforms for individual investors and retirement plan participants.
  • Familiarity with recordkeeping and investment platforms (e.g., FIS, Empower, Ascensus, Envestnet, Broadridge, or custom systems).


Skills & Tools:

  • Hands-on experience with modern technologies: React, Angular, Java/.NET, REST APIs, AWS/Azure, and DevOps pipelines.
  • Strong understanding of retail investment products, digital onboarding, account aggregation, and managed advice platforms.
  • Exceptional collaboration, communication, and client-centric solutioning skills.

Preferred Certifications:

  • Agile/Scrum certification or SAFe training.
  • Cloud certifications (AWS, Azure) or architecture certifications.

Compensation

The actual compensation offered will ultimately be dependent on multiple factors, which may include the candidate’s geographic location, skills, experience and other qualifications.

In addition, the position is eligible for a discretionary bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable incentive plan.

Work Location

This position is based in Corebridge Financial’s Houston, TX office and is subject to our hybrid working policy, which gives colleagues the benefits of working both in an office and remotely.
