How you will create an impact

 

We are seeking a highly experienced Network Security Engineer to help lead a major network transformation. This role reports to the Head of Network Security Engineering and is central to our mission of modernizing our network infrastructure with next-generation zero trust and SASE security controls. The successful candidate will be a subject matter expert with extensive experience who can provide technical leadership and mentorship to a team of engineers. Your expertise will be crucial in ensuring a secure and seamless transition to a modernized network.

 

·         Lead and execute the most complex, high-impact network security projects from inception through delivery, ensuring secure and scalable solutions

·         Create, own, and maintain network security designs, ensuring they align with architectural standards and business objectives

·         Partner with Security Architecture to translate high-level standards into secure, implementable network controls

·         Design and maintain the strategic roadmap for security controls, proactively anticipating future threats and business needs

·         Oversee the end-to-end lifecycle of security systems and applications, including installation, configuration management, policy assessment, and enforcement

·         Serve as the primary engineering point of contact for internal and external audit and regulatory engagements, demonstrating control effectiveness and compliance

·         Provide the highest level of escalation support for major business-impacting security incidents, performing advanced troubleshooting and root-cause analysis

·         Present and advocate for complex security changes to the AIG Security Review Board (SRB) and applicable change advisory boards (CAB), articulating risk and benefit

·         Proactively engage business partners to communicate any significant security control changes, ensuring seamless integration and adoption

·         Ensure all relevant security controls adhere to frameworks such as the OWASP top-10 and comply with regulations like NYDFS

·         Lead oversight and governance for security controls within non-incorporated entities, upholding enterprise security standards across the business

·         Serve as a technical lead and subject matter expert for Network Security Engineering, guiding the team's engineering excellence

·         Conducting and identifying database security compliance issues and ensure that any non-compliance to security baseline configurations are identified, tracked and assigned to stakeholders for remediation.

·         Working with internal and external auditors to demonstrate and provide evidence of security controls are adherence to regulatory compliance.

 

What you'll need to succeed

 

·         Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Cybersecurity or related field

·         15+ years of experience in network security engineering and operations in an enterprise environment with a focus on security tool technologies, security management, and policy enforcement

·         IT Security related certifications such as CISSP, SSCP, CCIE, CISM or CEH are highly preferred

·         Expertise in securing and designing complex network infrastructures, including LAN, WAN, and cloud-based networks

·         Strong knowledge of DNS, with experience in DNSSEC being a plus

·         Deep, hands-on experience with a variety of firewall and VPN technologies including strong knowledge of Palo Alto firewalls and Prisma SASE deployments

·         Experience installing, configuring, and supporting a wide range of network security tools

·         Advanced knowledge of Intrusion Detection and Prevention Systems (IDS/IPS) and other threat detection tools

·         Expertise in securing multi-cloud environments (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and familiarity with cloud-native security tools and architectures

·         In-depth understanding and experience with implementing zero-trust security models

·         Proven experience with Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) tools for monitoring, analysis, and incident response

·         Proficiency in conducting vulnerability scans and penetration tests

·         Experience with scripting languages such as Python or Bash to automate security tasks

·         In-depth knowledge of operating systems, applications, and network security architectures

·         Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and time management skills to address complex security incidents

·         Excellent verbal and written communication skills to clearly articulate complex security concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders, and to effectively communicate concerns and issues to other teams

·         Ability to lead and mentor junior security engineers, fostering a culture of knowledge-sharing and continuous learning

·         A proactive mindset and adaptability to stay current with the ever-evolving landscape of security threats and technologies

 

For positions based in New Jersey, the base salary range is $145,000-$220,000 and the position is eligible for a bonus [OR commission] in accordance with the terms of the applicable incentive plan.
