Description of the project the Intern will complete:

PATH is currently seeking a qualified Project Intern for the project titled “Development, Implementation, Use and Evaluation of Interoperable Health Information Systems to Achieve HIV/AIDS and TB Epidemic Control through Improved Health Informatics Policy, Governance, Workforce Capacity, and Systems”. In Vietnam, the project has aimed to support the government agencies to develop, implement, use, and evaluate interoperable health information systems to achieve HIV/AIDS epidemic control through improved health informatics policy, governance, workforce capacity, and systems.

The Project Intern will work closely with the project team to support the implementation of HIV information systems and will report to the Project Coordinator.

Description of overall learning objectives and goals for the internship/benefit to the Intern:

To gain practical experiences in the field of health data analytics, digital health, project implementation & management, and regular duties and responsibilities of the program and/or position.

Through this internship, the Intern will have the opportunity to:

  • Gain exposure to real-world public health data systems and digital health initiatives;
  • Develop practical skills in data analysis, reporting, and documentation;
  • Build foundational competencies in project coordination, implementation, and stakeholder engagement.

Brief description of required skills/experience the intern should possess:

  • Recently graduated from or a senior student at university on health informatics, data analytics, public health, or any related fields is preferred
  • High level of detail, focus, accuracy, and responsibility
  • Good verbal and written communication skills in both Vietnamese and English
  • Strong Microsoft Office, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Motivated with a strong desire to learn and take on new challenges.
  • Basic experience or coursework related to data analysis, health information systems, digital health, or public health programs.
  • Basic understanding of project coordination or program implementation.

  • Experience in data analytics and data visualization
  • Project implementation and management

  • Team working skills
  • Other related skills of logistics arrangement, financial process, event organization and administration

Proposed activities:

  • Conduct test functions of the health information systems developed in the project and support data cleaning activities
  • Support the development of Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) and tools to ensure the data quality
  • Support the development of data visualization and review the accuracy of data in the visualization
  • Monitor the progress of deployment and provide technical assistance to provinces in using health information systems
  • Support the development of IEC materials for health information systems, patient app (posters, user guide video, booklet, etc.) and other products
  • Assist program staff in tracking project implementation, including activity progress, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Contribute to documentation, meeting minutes, and knowledge products related to project implementation and management.

Candidates must currently have legal authorization to work in Vietnam.
