Production Scheduler/Planner

Summary

This position is responsible for reviewing all sales orders and planning lot sizes for part numbers based on usage. Also responsible for communication between the sales team and operations for sales order accuracy. This is a salary, non-exempt position and reports to the Manufacturing/Inventory Control Supervisor.

Job Description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Review and process new sales orders daily. Print and organize sales orders to be distributed to specific departments throughout the facility. 
  • Assist and direct employees who may have questions about sales orders and/or job travelers. 
  • Support and assist in the machine schedules and purchasing suggestions for all jobs. 
  • Evaluate and review sales orders to ensure that all required information is available. 
  • Aid and support all departments in custom job travelers for testing and/or product development. 
  • Evaluate and review item usage, modify and/or update manufacturing parameters. 
  • Review all MRP suggestions for manufactured items, decision making for run sizes. 
  • Make order adjustments as necessary based on monthly usage history and item lead-time. 
  • Monitor sales order revisions, responsible for locating and replacing the original with the new revision. 
  • Aid and support in “ECN” Engineering Change Notice. Includes changes to active job travelers and/or finished products. 
  • Review MRP suggestions daily and process job travelers based on material availability. 
  • Review and apply parameters for NEW parts, release from manufacturing hold. 
  • Aid and support process changes for active job travelers. 
  • Responsible for tasks relating to R&R Cases. 
  • Responsible for managing and communicating cancellations. 
  • Maintain compliance with company policy, safety, and good housekeeping practices. 
  • Engage in effective communication with the manufacturing manager and supervisor regarding any concerns related to process flow. 
  • Engage in all continuous improvement initiatives. 
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent experience preferred. 
  • 2-3 Years of Manufacturing Experience. 
  • Experience using Materials Requirement Planning (MRP) Preferred. 
  • Experience utilizing Google Email/Sheets/Docs. 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Basic knowledge of materials and scheduling processes. 
  • Solid computer skills. 
  • Must be an ambitious self-starter with effective people skills, capable of working in a fast-paced customer-focused environment. 

Physical Requirements: 

  • Prolonged periods of standing. 
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. 
  • Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds at times.
