The RN VAD Coordinator oversees the development, implementation and maintenance of all aspects of care for patients with a ventricular assist device (VAD) in collaboration with the Heart Failure team. To coordinate and manage the patient care of this high-risk population throughout the continuum to optimize the patient’s clinical, functional and psychosocial status. Provides the communication link for coordination of care among the multidisciplinary health care team for VAD patients. Demonstrate respect, dignity, kindness and empathy in each encounter with all patients, families, visitors and other employees regardless of cultural background.
Additional duties include:
Education, Credentials, Licenses:
Registered Nurse in state where work is being performed
Bachelor’s degree in Nursing
ACLS Certified
BLS Certified
Specialized Knowledge:
Strong interpersonal, communication and education skills
Extensive knowledge of nursing standards and practice related to heart failure management
Kind and Length of Experience:
Minimum of 4 years nursing experience (at least two years of critical care or VAD experience)
