Under the direction of the nursing faculty, this per-course/adjunct instructional faculty position performs duties in the Health Sciences Simulation Center (HSSC) to supervise and facilitate a range of simulation learning experiences for nursing students.
Duties/Responsibilities
Work with students during their sessions in Health Science Simulation Center
Facilitate simulation-based experiences
Evaluate simulation assignments and activities, and simulation performance in collaboration with nursing course faculty
Assist with laboratory needs including setup and cleanup for lab learning activities, manage lab supplies and provide overall student and faculty lab support.
Collaborate with nursing faculty to provide consistent and relevant student learning experiences to meet the course objectives
Minimum Qualifications
Minimum Acceptable Education & Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing
Organizational skills and the ability to follow directions
Demonstrated interest, ability and/or experience promoting cultural competency, universal accessibility, and/or diversity.
Required Licenses & Certifications:
Unencumbered RN license
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Understanding of nursing concepts and procedures.
Effective communication and teamwork with faculty, staff, and students.
Ability to provide constructive feedback during simulations.
Adaptability to respond to unexpected changes in simulation scenarios.
Willingness to learn new technologies and methods.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with instruction and facilitation in the simulation setting
Experience with orienting/precepting/teaching in the clinical setting
Experience with evaluation of student performance
Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator (CHSE)
