Job Description:

The Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable Supervisor will assist the Manager of Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Cost Recovery with maintaining vendor relationships and timely and accurate processing of merchandise and expense invoices for Weis Markets.   This position will ensure that Cash deposits are processed accurately and timely, as well as monitoring aging receivables related to gift cards, charge cards and miscellaneous customers within Workday.  This position will report to the Manager of Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Cost Recovery.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The associate is responsible for the functions below, in addition to other duties as assigned:

  • Manage the daily processing of merchandise and expense invoices.
  • Manage the daily settlement run process, and ad hoc payments as needed.
  • Provide ad-hoc reports and analysis as needed.
  • Build partnerships with associates within and outside the department.  Communicate in a concise and professional manner.  Prioritize and multitask efficiently to achieve department goals in a timely and efficient manner and prepare for expanded roles within the organization.  Develop accounting skills of staff by encouraging them to challenge accounting treatments and analytically review results.  Prepare them to complete new assignments of increasing complexity.
  • Partner with IT and management to ensure major projects are properly prioritized, delivered on time and thoroughly tested to minimize system stability issues.
  • Communicate openly with other department executives on financial issues.  Ensure all important accounting decisions are reviewed and approved by the entire finance team before implementation.
  • Manage the daily deposit and payment reconciliation process, for all companies and business units.
  • Review and approve Supplier Account updates as needed. Review new supplier submissions to ensure accuracy and completeness of required documentation.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This associate is responsible for overseeing fifteen (15) clerical associates.

Qualification Requirements

To perform this job successfully, the associate must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required:

Education and/or Experience 

Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) in Business administration, Accounting or Finance, plus a minimum of 2+ years relevant experience.
