Job Description

Basic Purpose:

Positions in this job are assigned responsibilities involving the operation of the uniform distribution center involving all aspects of warehouse management such as inventory control, inventory ordering and working with facility liaison to provide uniforms to correctional and support staff.

 

Typical Functions:

·         Coordinates with Oklahoma Correctional Industries (OCI) and Oklahoma Department of Corrections (ODOC) Manager to maintain adequate inventory of officer uniforms to include Class B, C, and accessories.

·         Maintains a central warehouse and ensures all uniforms are properly stored and marked by size and style. Ensures all uniforms are sanitized before issuance and after being returned.

·         Coordinates with HR, Training Unit, the Academy, and facilities to schedule uniform fitting appointments for cadets.

·         Coordinates with facilities on the distribution of correctional officer replacement uniforms.

·         Ensures uniforms are returned and determines remaining life expectancy. Ensures surplus process is followed for all unserviceable uniforms and ensure cleaning of all serviceable uniforms.

 

Level Descriptor:

At this level employees are assigned responsibilities related to direct supervisory responsibility over a professional level staff. This will include responsibility for all phases of assessing program staffing needs, conducting local on-site staff meetings and training to provide information about program policies and procedures, counseling with local officials about needs and problems at the local level, and initiating corrective actions concerning program procedures and staff management.

 

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Competencies:

Required Knowledge: Knowledge of the operation of requisition and inventory records, safety hazards and precautions; of sewing machine and computer equipment.

 

Required Abilities: Ability to follow basic written and oral instructions; to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.

 

Education and Experience:

Four (4) years of experience in stock handling, warehousing, and inventory control.
