About the Position:
We are seeking dedicated and compassionate Security Officers to join our team at the Children’s Recovery Center of Oklahoma. In this vital role, you will help maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for youth ages 12–17 receiving behavioral health and substance use treatment.
Key responsibilities include:
Providing a visible security presence throughout the facility
Promoting a safe environment for consumers and staff
Building rapport with consumers to support a therapeutic atmosphere
Responding to behavioral emergencies with verbal and physical de-escalation techniques
Collaborating with nursing staff to manage behavior on treatment units
Participating in Therapeutic Options training and applying those principles as needed
Occasionally interacting with law enforcement during new consumer admissions
Job Type & Compensation
Salary Range: $29,500 – $31,500 annually (based on education and experience)
Additional Pay: Shift differentials for evenings, nights, and weekends
Shifts: Currently hiring for 12-hour Day and Night shifts (rotating weekends)
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Minimum Qualifications and Experience:
Fire Prevention and Security Officer I – No education or experience needed.
Fire Prevention and Security Officer II - Education and Experience requirements at this level consist of a basic security and/or firefighter’s course and two (2) years of experience in security or fire prevention and protection work.
Special Requirements:
Conditional offers require a physical exam to confirm the ability to occasionally lift/carry up to 60 lbs. and push/pull up to 30 lbs.
Pre-employment drug and alcohol testing required for safety-sensitive positions.

About the facility: Children’s Recovery Center of Oklahoma (CRC) is located in Norman, Oklahoma, and serves all 77 counties in Oklahoma as the Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services (ODMHSAS) treatment center for young people ages 13 through 17. CRC provides community crisis stabilization and residential treatment for substance abuse and co-occurring mental health and trauma related conditions.
Drug and Alcohol Pre-employment and Pre-placement Testing: Upon a conditional offer of employment, applicants for safety sensitive positions shall be required to submit to urinalysis to test for drugs. Appointment to a safety sensitive position shall be contingent upon a negative drug test result.
