The research specialist will be to support Dr. Villamagna’s externally funded collaboration with the US Forest Service White Mountain National Forest (WMNF). The research specialist will report directly to Dr. Villamagna and their core function will be to conduct field inventories and data analysis as they pertain to large-scale restoration activities in stream and river ecosystems throughout the WMNF. The job will require strong knowledge of stream geomorphology, land use history, an understanding of USFS objectives, and the process of restoring ecosystems, specifically in the White Mountain region.

Requirements

Minimum Acceptable Education & Experience:

  • Masters of Science and at least 10 years’ experience working in streams and rivers in the White Mountain region.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Time management, field work planning and supervising, data collection, QA/QC, data analysis, science communication.

Other Requirements:

  • Must be willing to work long hours in the field in all seasons and weather (except hazardous weather)
