Job Summary:  

The Food and Beverage Front of House Manager at Zion Mountain Ranch is responsible for the overall management and strategic direction of the Cordwood Restaurant Front of House. This position oversees the Servers and Hosts/Bussers to ensure exceptional guest experiences through high-quality food and service. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food and beverage operations, excellent leadership skills, and a passion for delivering innovative dining experiences that reflect the natural beauty and uniqueness of Zion Mountain Ranch. 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Develop and implement strategic plans for the food and beverage Front of House operations, aligning with the overall goals and vision of Zion Mountain Ranch. 

  • Monitor industry trends and guest feedback to enhance the dining experience and keep the offerings relevant and competitive. 

  • Oversee all aspects of food and beverage Front of House services, ensuring operational efficiency, quality control, and adherence to health and safety regulations. 

  • Collaborate with the F&B Back of House Manager to develop menus that reflect seasonal availability, local flavors, and guest preferences, ensuring no overlap with kitchen operations. 

  • Lead, mentor, and develop the food and beverage Front of House team, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment. 

  • Assist in scheduling and organizing shifts to ensure adequate coverage for daily operations. 

  • Monitor FOH inventory levels (e.g., utensils, napkins, tableware) and coordinate replenishments as needed. 

  • Conduct pre-shift meetings to communicate daily specials, key information, and expectations to the team. 

  • Ensure cleanliness and presentation of the dining area, including tables, chairs, and host stand. 

  • Support onboarding and ongoing training of FOH staff, providing guidance to maintain high standards of service. 

  • Conduct regular training sessions to enhance staff skills in customer service, menu knowledge, and food safety protocols. 

  • Manage the food and beverage budget for Front of House, including labor costs and pricing strategies to maximize profitability. 

  • Monitor sales performance and analyze financial reports to identify opportunities for improvement and implement corrective actions as needed. 

  • Ensure exceptional guest service by actively engaging with guests, addressing concerns, and gathering feedback to improve the dining experience. 

  • Promote special events, seasonal offerings, and promotions to enhance guest participation and satisfaction. 

  • Work closely with the F&B Back of House Manager to ensure seamless coordination between kitchen operations and dining service. 

  • Communicate effectively with the F&B Back of House Manager, Guest Services Manager and other department heads to align on goals, share updates, and address any operational challenges. 

  • Implement and maintain quality assurance processes to ensure consistency in food and service delivery. 

  • Oversee the development and enforcement of standard operating procedures (SOPs) for all food and beverage operations.

Work Location:  

  • Due to the in-person nature of the hospitality business, housing will be provided on-site, and commuting from the local vicinity is also acceptable.  

  • Due to the nature of our business, Zion Mountain Ranch is open every day.You must be prepared to work a schedule which may include Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays. 

 

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:  

  • Communication skills to lead, train, and oversee the functions of food and beverage front of the house team. 

  • Experience overseeing kitchen, restaurant, bar environments. 

  • Establish successful working relationships with co-workers and the public. Use good professional judgment, honesty, and integrity in decision making.   

  • F&Front of House Manager must be able to interact with the public and stakeholders in a professional manner and possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.  

  • Minimum 2 years working in food & beverage management position, and hospitality preferred 

  • Current certification for UT Food Handlers Certification,  ServSafe and TIPs(or equivalent) are required. 

  • High school diploma required.
