The Adjunct Research Assistant will play a critical role in supporting an inclusive research project focused on young adults with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities (I/DD). This position is ideal for someone interested in community-engaged research, mental health interventions, and disability studies. Under the direction of the research team, the Research Assistant will help empower young adults with I/DD as co-researchers while supporting all phases of the research process, from data collection through dissemination.

Key responsibilities include coordinating and conducting data collection, observing in-person delivery of the Mental Health StepUp Peer intervention, taking detailed field notes, and supporting participants during weekly in-person or virtual check-ins. The Research Assistant will also administer standardized assessments, assist with data analysis, and contribute to dissemination activities such as presentations, reports, and publications. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to respectful, person-centered research practices.

Duties/Responsibilities

Support Students (15%)

  • Support young adults with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities to be researchers

Data (35%)

  • Coordinate data collection

  • Collect data and administer standardized assessments

  • Analyze data

Observe (10%)

  • Observe in-person delivery of the Mental Health StepUp Peer intervention

Notes (10%)

  • Take detailed field notes

Support Participants (20%)

  • Support participants during weekly “check-ins” (in-person or virtual)

Dissemination (10%)

  • Contribute to dissemination activities

Compensation Pay Range:

$27/hour
