Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Accurately acquire hospital medicine charts for registration, coding, and billing
- Maintain facility EMR access and remain compliant with all remote guidelines including patient privacy and access security
- Resolve outstanding Chart Resources queries for hospital medicine charts
- Maintain metrics and audits accurately and efficiently
- Complete all tasks with a performance expectation of 98% accuracy & 4-day TAT
- Report and publish audit findings and metrics to appropriate parties, including immediate and upper management
- Maintain quality standards throughout the department
- Maintain existing acquisition/auditing policy and procedure documents as necessary to include current coding guidelines per facility
- Review patient data to ensure accuracy including account number, name, visit date, and other demographic data when required
- Communication to all relevant support groups for follow-up and resolution of document data issues
- Maintain daily production goals and accurate production spreadsheets
- Agility to back up chart validation and other Chart Resources processes when required
- Collaboration in company/departmental activities, charitable initiatives, and overall corporate goals and objectives
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- A minimum of 1 to 3 years experience in one or all the following areas: Customer Service, Quality Assurance, Research / Auditing / Reporting, Healthcare Industry
- Basic knowledge of Hospital Medicine/Emergency Medicine/Inpatient chart components and/or terminology
- Knowledge of Webex or Zoom virtual meeting platform or compatible experience
EDUCATION:
- REQUIRED - High school diploma or equivalent
- Technical school/college preferred
- Associate degree preferred not required
FIELD OF STUDY (Preferred):
- Healthcare or Business Administration
- Medical Office Administration
QUALIFICATIONS:
Previous Experience:
- Intermediate proficiency level in Microsoft Office™, Microsoft Excel™, Microsoft Word™ and Microsoft Outlook™ required
- Experience using Kofax Capture™ or compatible application
- Experience using OnBase™ or compatible application
- Knowledge of Athena IDX billing system (preferred but not required)
- Proficiency in assigned electronic medical record systems (training provided)
- Proficiency using mySCP Care (training provided)
LOCATION:
Pay Range:
13.00 - 19.00 USD per hour
This range represents the anticipated base salary for this role. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and internal equity considerations.
