Job Description:

Advance your clinical career while making a meaningful impact in cardiac surgical care. Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center is seeking a skilled and compassionate Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join our growing Cardiac Surgery inpatient team. This is an exciting opportunity to care for complex surgical patients in a fast-paced, supportive environment while collaborating closely with surgeons, residents, and a multidisciplinary team.

What You’ll Do:

• Provide pre- and post-operative care for cardiac surgery patients in the inpatient setting
• Perform clinical procedures such as placement/removal of central lines, chest tubes, sutures, and temporary pacing wires under surgeon guidance
• Manage patient admissions, critical consults, and ongoing post-operative care during night shifts, Night shift differential additional $4.00/hour
• Complete discharge paperwork, summaries, and communicate with cardiologists/primary care providers as needed
• Organize patient information and participate in case conferences for surgical planning and follow-up
• Collaborate closely with surgical teams, residents, and nursing staff to ensure high-quality patient car

Preferred Qualifications:

• Comfort performing clinical procedures and managing acutely ill patients • Ability to work independently while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team

Minimum Requirements:

• Massachusetts license as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner • Experience in an ICU or Cardiac setting
• BLS certification
• Passion for delivering high-quality, patient-centered care

Pay Range:

$64.00 - $115.38

The pay range listed for this position is the base hourly wage range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time. Actual compensation is determined based on several factors, that may include seniority, education, training, relevant experience, relevant certifications, geography of work location, job responsibilities, or other applicable factors permissible by law.  Compensation may exceed the base hourly rate depending on shift differentials, call pay, premium pay, overtime pay, and other additional pay practices, as applicable to the position and in accordance with the law.
