Essential Duties & Responsibilities including but not limited to:

• Responsible for assigned Patient Financial Services functions for all BILH Hospital facilities
• Exemplifies BILH System Services Workforce Code of Conduct.
• Under managerial oversight, ensures that work units comply with all state, federal, and health plan applicable requirements and regulations. Keep abreast of payer and regulatory changes
• Under managerial oversight, provides daily management to the work unit including creating individual and work unit goals and objectives, developing performance standards, and motivating and engaging a team member and/or work unit to achieve them.
• Assists the Manager in the review and updates of work unit policies and procedures.
• Monitors individual and work unit adherence to set policies and procedures and assists in the monitoring of accounts to ensure operational policies and procedures are being followed
• Assists the Manager in the oversight of training and education efforts of the team member and/or work unit and provides feedback to both the Manager and team members
• Oversees day-to-day internal staff auditing and production
• Mentors and coaches assigned team members.
• Assists the manager in developing new workflows and department strategies for new technology, and system enhancements due to changing payer and regulatory environments
• Assists the Manager on items related to human resources:
a) provides colleague skill and knowledge training, orientation, and education, including re-training as necessary
b) within departmental guidelines, assists the Manager with determining colleague work schedules and the reporting of work hours
c) assists the Manager in the evaluation of colleague work performance and recommendations of merit or other increases/decreases in compensation
• Under the managerial oversight of the Department Manager, this position is responsible for assisting with staff goal setting, planning, and monitoring performance results, reporting of key performance indicators, problem-solving, and ensuring employee competency, productivity, and quality of work division-wide.
• Assist the Manager with special projects when needed
Minimum Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent Experience Required
Licensure, Certification & Registration: None Required
Experience:
3+ years in a healthcare environment preferably in hospital billing. One year supervising staff preferred.
Skills, Knowledge & Abilities:
The knowledge and abilities required to perform this function would typically be acquired through training and experience equivalent to graduation from an accredited school with a Bachelor's degree; and three (3) years of experience in Professional/hospital billing or related revenue cycle field. Comprehensive knowledge of the components associated with billing for a large multi-specialty academic group practice. Excellent verbal and communication skills along with the ability to maintain productive and professional relationships. Excellent problem identification and solving skills.
