Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
Sets and maintains departmental operating budget and manages accounting services within University Marketing & Communications, ensuring alignment with department and institutional goals. Monitors, analyzes, reconciles, and reports on all financial activity. This includes budget planning and performance, monthly and yearly reporting, account reconciliation, variance analysis, budget adjustments, purchase orders, journals, change orders, invoices, etc.
Responsible for timely processing of all accounting documents according to closing schedules, investigating and making corrections in a timely manner; prepares various general ledger entries to facilitate monthly, quarterly and yearly closing. Assures the integrity of general ledger accounts, analyzes and solves system problems pertaining to these accounts and responds to various inquires on general accounting and departmental issues
Develops and regularly distributes financial reports for department heads.
Reviews and recommends operational policies/procedures. Maintains working knowledge of various procedures, processes and systems.
Performs other duties as assigned.
