Temporary Position-Cataloger-Administration Support Services Office-Richmond, TX

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Performs copy cataloging of library materials in all formats using OCL and the Polaris Integrated Library System (ILS).

  • Search OCLC for MARC records, locate and match records to items needing cataloging and edit records to conform to local standards.

  • May assist in local database management including deleting files and holdings, in both the library catalog and the OCLC database.

  • Process materials as necessary.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s Degree required, master’s degree in library science from an American Library Association accredited school is preferred.

  • One year cataloging experience using OCLC bibliographic database.  One year experience working with the Dewey Decimal Classification System.  Knowledge of MARC records and experience using an integrated library system.

SALARY/HOURLY: $22.00 per hour/ working 24 hours weekly
