CANCER SERVICES COORDINATOR, M-F with some weekends, 3 to 4 Days per week, 10 to 12 hour shifts, start time 7a and can be flexed up to 2 hours.
Job Description:
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Answers telephone and documents messages accurately and triages to appropriate person.
- Ensures that daily office operations are efficient and well organized.
- Serves as a customer service role model while interacting with referral sources, physicians, patients, families, third party payers, and other physician practices.
- Maintains open communication with co-workers, nurses, physicians, and other hospital departments.
- Maintains six physicians and nurse practioner’s meeting schedule, time off requests, CME schedules, action time, and ON-CALL schedule.
- Transcribes letters dictated by physicians.
- Coordinates scheduling with Executive Director and Medical Director of Cancer Services
- Maintains Demographic new and expired patient's charts.
- Monitors Thank you notes to donors, and sympathy cards to expired patient's families.
- Posts and reconciles Athena co-payments.
- Coordinates Disease and site-specific Staging Forms
- Reconciles and communicates with NO-Show appointments.
- Physician and Vendor Liaison. Maintains compliance with Vendormate registration.
- Coordinates all Cancer Screening Events
- Coordinates all Cancer Service Wellness Programs

Education/Experience Required:
- Ability to read, write, and comprehend English at a 12 th grade level/ high school diploma.
- Graduate of secretarial program, preferred.
- Success completion of a medical terminology course
- Proficient in Microsoft Outlook/ Word/ Excel
- Secretarial experience of two years
- Typing 50 WPM and proficiency exam.
- Transcribing and Dictaphone use and proficiency
- Medical terminology course: broad knowledge
- Microsoft Outlook/Word/Excel

This job requires frequent bending, carrying, pulling, pushing, reaching, standing, stooping, walking and lifting over 10 lbs. There will be occasional need for climbing stairs, lifting in excess of 50 – 100 lbs and sitting. Constant use of hearing, sight and speech. Frequent use of smell and touch. Frequent keyboard and telephone use. Constant concentration and problem solving

Pay Range:
$18.81 - $33.00
This position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement. The pay range listed for this position is the base hourly wage range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time. The pay range for this position is established and governed by the terms of the applicable collective bargaining agreement. Employees hired into this position will receive compensation consistent with the terms of the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
