The Senior Training Specialist is responsible for researching, designing, developing, and implementing training initiatives that enhance the FUJIFILM Biotechnologies Texas adherence to quality standards and GMPs. This role involves creative collaboration with Subject Matter Experts to translate complex ideas into effective training solutions. Proactive identification of training needs and comprehensive support in audits and inspections are critical components of this position.

Job Description

Reports to                QA Training Supervisor

Work Location         College Station, TX 

 

Essential Functions:

  • Drive and manage projects that improve training processes and develop a comprehensive training program that align with industry standards and regulatory requirements, using advanced instructional design techniques.
  • Develop training content that aligns with regulatory expectations by applying adult learning principles and advanced instructional design principles to improve trainee competence and compliance. Collaborate across the FUJIFILM Biotechnologies network to ensure consistency across the network in training design and content creation.
  • Conduct training needs analysis with department leadership/Subject matter experts to identify gaps in skills and knowledge, ensuring targeted training initiatives address and fulfill these needs effectively.
  • Perform investigations and assist in implementing corrective and preventive actions to improve processes and improve compliance.
  • Support Internal, Customer, and Regulatory audits as required.
  • Deliver the Training for Trainers program, empowering trainers with skills to deliver and develop effective GMP-based training. This includes coaching team members on successful training methodologies and best practices.
  • Promote a strong Quality Culture by integrating GMP principles consistently across training programs and actioning those principles in everyday behavior and interactions.
  • Maintain accurate training records and generate reports to track compliance and effectiveness metrics.
  • All other duties as required.

Required Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong communication skills, with active listening and clear conveyance of information in written and verbal formats.
  • Effective facilitation skills in engaging training sessions, confirming understanding.
  • Self-motivated with a drive for excellence.
  • Applies Adult Learning principles and Instructional Design principles to FUJIFILM Biotechnologies Texas training.
  • Ability to identify, prioritize learning needs, and lead complex projects to completion.
  • Excellent knowledge of biotechnology industry standards, practices, and procedures.
  • Working knowledge of laboratory and/or manufacturing instruments/equipment.
  • Knowledgeable of evaluating training effectiveness
  • Able to successfully work independently or as part of a multi-disciplinary team to meet deadlines.
  • Positive attitude and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Creative thinker who can work with minimal supervision following internal procedures while balancing independent thinking.
  • Ability to set personal performance goals and provide input to departmental objectives.
  • Ability to multitask and easily prioritize work.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

  • Ability to wear personal protective equipment including but not limited to safety glasses, lab coat, gloves, specialized clothing including laboratory scrubs (pants and shirt), cleanroom (ISO 8 to ISO 5) gowning material, and appropriate shoes required in most areas associated with this position.
  • Lifting to 25 pounds on occasion.
  • Use hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, photocopier, telephone, calculator, and other office equipment is required.
  • Must be willing to work flexible hours.
  • Ability to work weekends and off-shift hours, as needed to support manufacturing activities.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of relevant experience.
  • Associates degree and 7+ years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification relating to Training.
  • Prior GMP experience.
  • ASQ Certification related to training.
  • Instructional Design experience.
  • Previous public speaking experience.
  • Experience in driving projects that require inter-departmental collaboration.
