Responsibilities
Exciting opportunity to assist the Workplace Benefits pricing team to define and build our next generation LTD manual rate pricing algorithm. This project will allow the candidate to creatively develop a new solution to pricing a complex product and own the process to completion. Substantial resources will be provided to get the candidate up to speed and a managing Actuary to consult on key decision points.
This will be a focused effort starting late 2025 and extending into the later part of the summer months in 2026.
- Gather and analyze LTD claim and exposure data, formulating our next gen pricing algorithm to right-price employer groups and expand our competitiveness to a broader spectrum of the market.
- Build knowledge of the LTD product, pricing fundamentals, and the Workplace Benefits marketplace.
- Gain exposure to Workplace Benefits leadership and pricing adjacent functions
Qualifications
- Attention to Detail: Ensure that data and analysis is accurate and complete.
- Collaboration: Work in close coordination with the Life & Disability pricing team.
- Data Analysis: Ability to manage and analyze large, complex data sets.
- Technical Skills: Advanced use of database programs to gather and analyze data. We are open to exploring different technologies and ways to solve the problem (R, SAS, Excel, GenAI, statistical methods). Comfort with complex mathematical problems and modeling.
- Communication: Opportunity and ability to share project updates across a variety of stakeholders (Product, Underwriting, Actuarial, Distribution, etc.).
Salary Range Information
Salary ranges below reflect targeted base salaries. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation for all roles will be based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer.
