About the Role

As a Patient Care Specialist II, you’ll handle advanced administrative and patient access responsibilities that keep our practice running smoothly. You’ll be a key part of the patient experience from the moment they walk in the door.

Key Responsibilities

  • Greet, register, and check in patients with accuracy and professionalism

  • Verify insurance, obtain authorizations, and collect copayments

  • Answer phones, schedule/reschedule appointments, and support daily provider schedules

  • Process referrals, medical record requests, and documentation

  • Perform clerical tasks including scanning, faxing, filing, and EHR uploads

  • Review accounts for errors or outstanding balances and coordinate with billing

  • Maintain full HIPAA and privacy compliance

  • Support the Practice Manager and clinical team with administrative tasks

  • Assist with chart audits, workflow improvements, and training updates

What You Bring

  • High school diploma or GED

  • 2+ years of healthcare or patient access experience

  • Strong EHR knowledge and understanding of insurance verification

  • Excellent communication, attention to detail, and multitasking skills

  • Professionalism, empathy, and commitment to patient confidentiality

  • Ability to work independently in a fast‑paced environment

Physical Requirements

  • Primarily sedentary with frequent computer use

  • Ability to lift up to 15 lbs independently (up to 50 lbs with assistance)
