Job Description Summary

‎ 

The Medical Assistant plays a critical role in supporting clinicians and ensuring the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care. This position is responsible for assisting with clinical and administrative functions that promote efficient care delivery, accurate documentation, and a positive patient experience. By serving as a key connection between patients, providers, and care teams, the Medical Assistant helps ensure smooth clinic operations and supports the overall effectiveness of the care center.

How will you make an impact & Requirements

‎ 

Primary Responsibilities 

  • Assist clinicians with patient examinations and treatments under physician direction. 

  • Provide front and/or back office clinical support in accordance with Care Center or Medical Group Practice protocols. 

  • Greet patients in a friendly, service-oriented manner and facilitate a positive patient experience. 

  • Manage patient check-in by ensuring charts are prepared, medical records are available, patient information is current, and required paperwork is complete. 

  • Interview patients, obtain and document vital signs, and record the reason for visit. 

  • Explain procedures, perform treatments, and administer prescribed medications as directed. 

  • Support patient check-out by scheduling follow-up appointments, collecting co-payments when applicable, and ensuring documentation is complete. 

  • Schedule, confirm, and manage patient appointments. 

  • Reconcile co-payments at the end of each day in accordance with clinic procedures.

  • Balances front- and back-office responsibilities in a fast-paced clinical environment. 

  • Follows established protocols and workflows to support smooth clinic operations.

  • Maintains patient privacy and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA and organizational standards. 

  • Demonstrates reliability, accountability, and ethical behavior. 

  • Adheres to organizational policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. 

 

Minimum Qualifications 

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required. 

  • Minimum of two (2) years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. 

  • Current and valid Medical Assistant certificate / certification from an accredited training program required. 

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) skills may be required, depending on location or patient population. 

  • Active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification may be required 

  • Satisfactory completion of a Tuberculosis test is required.
