As part of our strategy to design and implement industry leading applications, WMPT senior platform engineer to join a technologically advanced team. Candidate must have expertise in development and tuning of multi-tiered Java applications. Candidate should be fluent in Spring, databases, database interface layers, and associated Java development tools. Candidate must also be able to contribute towards UI development using Angular, web protocols and standards, and associated UI development tools. Candidate will interface on a regular basis with other teams including other internal IT teams across Wealth Management, BA team, QA team, and global development team. To be successful, the role will require the individual to understand the banking technology landscape, and to offer creative solutions that integrate current capabilities, vendor capabilities, proprietary system builds, and the ability to adapt to changing business requirements.

What you’ll do in the role:

  • Performance optimization and stabilization on microservices for WMPT Platform.

  • Conduct intense code-reviews and follow best coding practices.

  • Design and optimize Java applications as well as multi-tier Java applications in Money Movement

  • Work as part of a banking Agile Squad.

  • Work in Agile development methodologies, collaborating with business and technology teams located globally.

What you’ll bring to the role:

  • Minimum BS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience as Java Developer building enterprise level applications using Core Java 1.8 or higher.

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in Spring Boot, solid understanding of multi-tiered web-based applications.

  • Solid understanding of Event driven service design, Cloud native applications development

  • In-depth knowledge of JavaScript, Angular, jQuery, and CSS.

  • Practical experience with Web API, Junit/TDD, Kafka, Git.

  • Strong knowledge of CI CD Pipelines, Code quality analysis tools like Sonar, find bug.

  • Strong understanding of database analysis & design including SQL, indexes, and query tuning.

  • Ability to configuration and performance in depth.

  • Proven experience working in agile development methodologies.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.



Skills Desired:

  • Working Knowledge of building applications in the Cloud.

  • Working Knowledge of Unix/Linux and/or any scripting language.

  • Exposure to JIRA or other ALM tools to create a productive, high quality development environment.

  • Working knowledge of financial markets, Money Movement, and Wealth Management.
