We are looking for someone with deep technical skills in ZPython as well as Python/Linux environment with an understanding of Jenkins automation and scripting. This individual will be part of a highly technical and interactive team that installs and configures software for cross environment access between our mainframe systems and distributed systems using a variety of vendor products as well as customizing solutions to support and enhance the mainframe environment. This individual would be responsible for coding of new systems as well as maintenance and upgrading of existing applications. The ability to work independently is a key factor for this role.

We are looking for a highly motivated, team player with good communications skills and someone who posses a high degree of technical problem solving ability, to focus on our Cross Platform product suite. This individual will be required to perform weekend work and after hours work as well.

What You will do in the role:

  • Designing and building the zPython framework for application adoption

  • Agreeing to responsibilities for deliverables in project plans

  • Understanding requirements for the system components to be developed or updated

  • Creating and/or understanding conceptual and detailed designs for the system components being developed or updated

  • Coding additions or amendments to system components as directed by the project manager

  • Unit testing of new or amended code

  • Creating and executing test plans according to agreed project plans

  • Ability to work independently

  • Participating in implementation of new or amended systems

  • Escalation of issues as appropriate to the project manager

  • Following working practices used within the team

  • Providing Level 3 support – possibly after hours

Specific duties include:

  • Reviewing project documentation to understand deliverables

  • Designing, coding and testing new or amended system functionality

  • Creating system documentation as required

  • Working with other team members to ensure the success of the project

  • Providing status and progress updates to the project manager as required
