Department Profile
Global Banking and Operations Technology (GBOT) is a dynamic and fast-paced area within the Firm's WM Technology Division. We are responsible for creating innovative technology solutions for the Digital Business Automation(DBA), one of the strategic growth areas of the Firm, providing document management, workflow and services to our WM clients. This includes state-of-the-art technology for a nationwide network of Private Bankers and product specialists who work with Financial Advisors to provide access to products and services such as online banking, cards, deposit products, residential mortgages, securities-based loans and tailored lending. Job Functions/Duties and Responsibilities:
> Self-starter who is proficient in development with Process Development, Headless REST APIs, JAVA, JEE, Spring, Git and other Frameworks with experience in guiding Project teams with full life cycle of development/design and requirements gathering
> Significant programming experience in a structured software development environment
> Build strategic generic tech solutions that can be reused and leveraged across business areas
> Possess framework mindset, in terms of building components/libraries that can be easily ported/integrated/upgraded with minimal effort by various applications
> The candidate will interact with a diverse set of teams, including developers, business analysts, quality assurance, infrastructure, user communities, and senior management
> Must have experience with Java/J2EE with a deep understanding of the language and core API's, web services, multi-threaded/concurrent programming, JSON, design patterns, Service Oriented Architecture
> Must be able to demonstrate significant relevant work experience, or had experience of several major technology implementation projects
> Code, conduct code reviews, participate in design discussions and contribute to the architecture process
> Must have 8+ Years of experience on Java and related frameworks > Must have 3+ Years of Hands-on experience with Spring framework including Spring Boot, Spring Security, Spring Batch > Engineer automated techniques and processes for the bulk indexing of large-scale data sets residing in database or un-indexed systems > Load balancing, integrating multi core searches. Additional responsibilities: > Designing software and producing scalable and resilient technical designs
> Digesting and understanding Business Requirements and designing new modules/functionality to meet those needs
> Creating Automated Unit Tests using Flexible/Open Source Frameworks using a Test Driven Development approach
> Partner with supporting tech leads to develop realistic and achievable project estimates
> Analysis and build within Control, Stability, Resiliency, Capacity & Performance areas
> Testing: Unit, SIT & UAT planning and management
> Robust delivery of code into the production environment
> Take part in decisions affecting long range organizational goals & strategic planning

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $95,000 and $135,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
