- Oklahoma Heart Institute offers 24/7 catheterization labs, cardiac rehabilitation and a heart failure center. In addition, OHI is involved in over 200 cutting-edge research studies across the vast amount of specialties within the system.
Responsibilities
- The clinical dietitian is a registered dietitian responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating patient progress toward nutrition goals.
- Educates patients individually and in group settings on behaviors and lifestyle changes that impact long-term eating habits, diabetes, self-management and overall health.
- Provide Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT) to assist with including but not limited to, prediabetes, type 1 diabetes, type 2 diabetes, gestational diabetes and weight management.
- Recommends changes in therapy and monitors patient’s responses to changes in medication regime, exercise plan or meal plan and reports to physician.
- Collaborates with other staff to provide education and self-management training in a clinically appropriate manner, as described in the department’s policies and procedures.
Qualifications
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in nutrition or dietetics.
- Must possess current Oklahoma state licensure as a Licensed Dietitian
- RD from the CDR required.
- CDE (Certified Diabetes Educator) to be obtained within 1 year from hire.
- 2 years’ experience as a Clinical Dietitian with responsibilities related to diabetes.
Preferred Job Requirements:
- 3 years’ experience as a Clinical Dietitian with responsibilities related to diabetes.
