A Pharmacy Technician Trainee is an entry-level position in which the trainee learns the job skills of a pharmacy technician.

Program Overview

  • Paid Training: You will train in the pharmacy under a pharmacist's supervision (4 hours in the pharmacy and 4 hours completing online training modules through the Technician University)
  • PTCB Exam: After completing the online Technician University modules (132 hours), you will be eligible to take the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) exam.
  • California Pharmacy Technician License: Upon passing the PTCB exam to become a nationally certified pharmacy technician, you will be able to apply for a California Pharmacy Tech License and work in the pharmacy as a Pharmacy Technician.
  • Covered or Reimbursed by Raley’s:

  • Online Technician University training
  • PTCB Exam
  • Live scan fingerprinting
  • California Pharmacy Technician License
  • Pharmacy Technician schools require completion of 6-12 months of course work in addition to an externship, and these programs could cost thousands of dollars. This is a great opportunity to obtain a California Pharmacy Technician license without the cost of an expensive program while being paid to train.
