Job Summary/Purpose:
The purpose of this arrangement will be to provide after hours on-call coverage for the Department of Pediatrics/Division of Child Abuse Pediatrics (CAP) as a Pediatric Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (P-SANE).
The P-SANE RN provides timely and compassionate care to pediatric and adolescent sexual assault victims. These responsibilities include triage, forensic examination, prophylaxis for pregnancy and sexually transmitted diseases, photographic documentation, referrals for appropriate medical and psychological follow-up, and support and participation in legal proceedings. The P-SANE RN works under the direction of the P-SANE Program Coordinator and follows established protocols.
Required Minimum Training and Education: Graduate from an accredited school of nursing and one-year related nursing experience. Pediatric experience preferred. Licensure as RN by the South Carolina Board of Nursing.
Required Licensure, Certifications, Registrations: Current South Carolina RN License and BLS required.
