Dignity Care Hospice, Blue Ash, Ohio is currently recruiting for a Hospice Volunteer Coordinator.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Hospice Volunteer Coordinator is responsible for all aspects of the volunteer program. This includes orientation, training, and coordination of all Hospice volunteers, as well as administration and development of the volunteer program in all service areas.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Include:
Plan and supervise delivery of all volunteer services.
Assign volunteers to service on the basis of program needs and the volunteer interests and skill.
Assess and monitor program needs and develop appropriate volunteer activity and positions.
Maintain and monitor a record keeping system which includes services delivered and actual time involved.
Recruit, interview, and select volunteers.
Design and supervise the orientation and training of volunteers regarding hospice philosophy, policy, and practice.
Oversee performance of program supportive staff.
Monitor and evaluate volunteers' performance.
Plan and conduct volunteer support meetings.
Prepare service reports as required.
Participate in IDG meetings.
Develop with volunteers a plan of care for patient.
Other assignments as may be appropriate.
Travel and/or Overtime
Office meetings and frequent travel while promoting community awareness. Must have reliable transportation and agency-required liability insurance.
Occasional after hour's meetings.
Qualifications/Education/Experience
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
Experience in related field and in volunteer activity.
Demonstrated skill in administrative functions that include ability to develop policies and procedures.
Two or more years of supervisory experience
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to execute a supportive and sensitive approach to volunteer and patient/family needs.
Ability to speak in front of large groups.
Valid drivers license
