General Notes

This position is limited to current students at the University of Texas at Austin.  This position is expected to cover each semester with the opportunity to extend based on the availability of funding, work performance, and progress toward goals.

Assignments effective January 5 – May 15, 2026 with the opportunity to extend to summer and fall 2026 semesters. Multiple positions are open to Undergraduate students only.

Purpose

Watermark Student Associates support the Office of the Executive Vice President and Provost in maintaining the integrity and usability of the university’s faculty activity reporting system, Watermark. Student Associates play a key role in preparing Watermark for annual review processes by entering and auditing faculty CV data, ensuring consistency across records, and contributing to process improvement efforts. This position is ideal for students interested in academic operations, data stewardship, and documentation practices.

Responsibilities

· Data entry and assistance with data cleanup projects

· Maintain log of completed entries and updates

· Document issues encountered during data entry and follow reporting protocols

· Ensure consistency in formatting across entries (e.g., capitalization, punctuation, naming conventions)

· Ensure secure access and storage of documents used for data entry

· Participate in team meetings and contribute to discussions on process improvement

· Attend training sessions on Watermark functionality and data standards

· Provide administrative support for the office.

Required Qualifications

· Must be enrolled in at least 3 credit hours in at least one summer session or enrolled in at least 6 hours in the fall/spring, and good standing.

· Ensure all hours worked in a week, along with your class schedule, do not exceed 40 hours.

· Ability to positively collaborate with others and follow instructions.

· Availability to work at least 15 hours per week and no more than 19 hours.

· Must be authorized to work in the United States.

Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications

· Experience with academic CVs

· Proficiency in Excel or Smartsheet

· Prior experience with maintaining databases

· Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in documentation

· Willingness to learn and adapt to evolving project needs and feedback

Salary Range

$14.00+ depending on qualifications

Working Conditions

· Student will be allowed to work remotely from Austin, Texas

· Schedule to be determined with supervisor

· May work around standard office conditions

· Repetitive use of a keyboard at a workstation

· Use of manual dexterity

Work Shift

· The number of hours and schedule will be mutually agreed upon between the student worker and the manager.
