Airnorth is looking for a commercially driven Business Development Manager to play a key role in shaping our growth across Western Australia and the Northern Territory. This Perth based position is located in our Burswood office.
This is a high-impact role focused on securing and growing Fly-in/Fly-out (FIFO) and charter contracts within the resources sector. You’ll work closely with senior stakeholders to identify opportunities, win new business, and deliver long-term value across our commercial portfolio.
About the role
Reporting to the General Manager Commercial, you will lead the development and execution of business opportunities across the FIFO and charter market.
You’ll combine strategic thinking with hands-on delivery, managing the full lifecycle from opportunity identification through to contract execution and ongoing account management.
Key responsibilities
Develop and manage relationships with key resource sector clients across WA and NT
Identify, pursue and secure new FIFO and charter contract opportunities
Manage and grow a portfolio of major accounts, with a focus on revenue generation
Lead tender processes, including preparation of RFI/RFP submissions and contract negotiation
Analyse client needs and develop tailored commercial solutions that deliver value
Prepare and manage annual revenue and sales plans aligned to business targets
Collaborate with internal teams to optimise aircraft utilisation and drive charter revenue
Monitor contract performance, including financial, operational and compliance outcomes
Maintain accurate reporting, contract records and CRM data
Support continuous improvement in contracting and commercial processes
Facilitate one-off, ad hoc, and semi-regular charters
Manage relationships with charter brokers
About you
You are a results-driven commercial professional with strong industry knowledge and a track record of winning and managing complex contracts.
Minimum 7+ years’ experience in business development, sales or contract management (resources sector preferred)
Strong understanding of the FIFO and/or aviation market
Proven experience managing tenders, contracts and high-value negotiations
Highly developed stakeholder engagement skills, including presenting at executive level
Commercially astute with strong analytical and problem-solving capability
Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver to tight deadlines
Advanced organisational and administrative skills, including Microsoft Office
Self-motivated, proactive and comfortable working autonomously
