Job Description:

JOB SUMMARY

Under direction of a Radiologist, The Mammography Technologist performs various mammographic and/or molecular breast imaging procedures at a technical level not requiring constant supervision. All mammographic and/or molecular breast imaging procedures must meet the diagnostic quality standards established by the supervising Radiologist.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION

For positions requiring education beyond a high school diploma or equivalent, educational qualifications must be from an institution whose accreditation is recognized by the Council for Higher Education and Accreditation.

Minimum Required: Satisfactory completion of formal radiologic technology training in an AMA approved (2 year) school.

Preferred/Optional: None

EXPERIENCE 

Minimum Required: None

Preferred/Optional: Previous mammography experience preferred.

CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES 

The following licensure(s), certification(s), registration(s), etc., are required for this position.  Licenses with restrictions are subject to review to determine if restrictions are substantially related to the position.

Minimum Required:  Valid Radiographer licensure in an applicable state. Must be ARRT certified in Radiology. Must obtain Mammography certification within two years’ of employment. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification awarded by the American Heart Association (AHA).
