JOB SUMMARY
The Arrhythmia Device Technician provides pacemaker or implantable cardioverter defibrillator (ICD) care to patients under the direction of the physician. The individual evaluates pacemaker and ICD performance, diagnoses malfunctions and completes program adjustments to optimize device performance. The Arrhythmia Device Technician educates patients, family and assists with patient questions. The individual interacts with physicians, clinical personnel and community agencies to provide optimal care to the patient and their family.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION
For positions requiring education beyond a high school diploma or equivalent, educational qualifications must be from an institution whose accreditation is recognized by the Council for Higher Education and Accreditation.
Minimum Required: None
Preferred/Optional: Diploma or degree in a medical field.
EXPERIENCE
Minimum Required: Six months of didactic training.
