JOB PURPOSE:

The Human Resources department supports the college community by providing services related to employment, benefits, compliance, and employee experience in a collaborative and service oriented environment. The Student Admin plays a key role in supporting the daily operations of the HR office by offering welcoming, reliable administrative assistance and helping ensure a positive experience for all visitors. In this role, students will build practical skills in professional communication, customer service, data entry and record management, confidentiality and ethical decision making, time management, and use of office systems. These experiences are directly applicable to a wide range of future careers.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide friendly front desk support by greeting faculty, staff, students, and visitors and connecting them with the appropriate HR team member

  • Answer phone calls and provide courteous and helpful assistance

  • Order office supplies and equipment and submit work orders as needed

  • Maintain shared office spaces by assisting with light housekeeping such as washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, and restocking supplies

  • Distribute department mail and follow up with employees regarding returned W-2s

  • Assist new employees with completion of I-9 documentation

  • Support student employment processes, including job postings and responding to general inquiries

  • Provide support on cross-functional projects as needed

SCHEDULE:

  • The HR office is open between 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM, Mondays - Fridays

  • Student must be able to work 4 - 6 hours per week, Mondays and/or Tuesday

RATE OF PAY

  • 16.30 / hour or current OR minimum wage

WORK STUDY REQUIREMENT

  • No Work Study required

  • A demonstrated interest in administrative work and supporting a service-oriented office

  • A friendly, welcoming attitude and strong customer service approach

  • Ability to work independently and take initiative

  • Strong attention to detail and follow-through

  • Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion

  • Strong organizational, communication, and administrative skills

  • Proficiency with general office technology and software

When working in the Human Resources office, employees must dress in neat, professional attire appropriate for a front-facing office environment

PREFERENCES

  • A reliable, flexible, and patient individual who is a quick learner and demonstrates sound judgment

  • Previous experience in an office or administrative setting is a plus

  • Experience with data entry, customer service, or office systems is also a plus

      Eligibility to Work
      In order to comply with US Homeland Security Department regulations, all employees must complete an I-9 form in Workday prior to or no later than the first day of work and bring originals (no photocopies) of their supporting documentation to Human Resources no later than the 3rd business day of employment. Failure to have a completed I-9 form on file with the College will result in immediate termination of employment.
