JOB SUMMARY
The Manager - Medical Transport and Patient Access is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the 24/7/365 telephone contact center, system transport and dispatch center. The individual serves as a liaison between physicians, administration, staff, patients and the referral source while coordinating nurse resources, bed availability, patient throughput, and transport services. The Manager - Medical Transport and Patient Access identifies and resolves matters to promote a safe and quality patient experience, implements continuous process improvement and manages the performance and development of staff. The individual also assists administrators and leadership to define and execute strategic initiatives and works with providers to maintain a clinical service delivery system that meets the clinical and financial objectives of the organization.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION
For positions requiring education beyond a high school diploma or equivalent, educational qualifications must be from an institution whose accreditation is recognized by the Council for Higher Education and Accreditation.
Minimum Required: Diploma, Associate or Bachelor’s degree in nursing or Paramedic degree.
Preferred/Optional: Bachelor or Master’s degree in nursing or advanced Paramedic Certifications.
EXPERIENCE
Minimum Required: Three years’ leadership experience in EMS or Nursing; or two years’ leadership experience with a master’s degree.
Preferred/Optional: Four years’ management experience in a healthcare field.
CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES
The following licensure(s), certification(s), registration(s), etc., are required for this position. Licenses with restrictions are subject to review to determine if restrictions are substantially related to the position.
Minimum Required: Registered Nurse or Paramedic license awarded by the State of Wisconsin.
Preferred/Optional: Basic Life Support, Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and/or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross.
