This position will include a variety of assisting in surgery, inpatient rounding, care team in clinic and solo clinic in the clinic. The position is four 10 hour shifts per week. No weekends or holidays.Summary
The OB/GYN Nurse Practitioner provides advanced nursing care to women across the lifespan, with a focus on reproductive health, pregnancy, and gynecologic conditions. The NP works in collaboration with OB/GYN physicians and other healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive preventive, diagnostic, and therapeutic services.Job Description
Perform well-woman exams, Pap smears, and routine gynecologic screenings. Manage common gynecologic concerns such as infections, menstrual disorders, contraception, and menopause. Provide prenatal and postnatal care in collaboration with supervising physicians. Conduct initial obstetric assessments, order and interpret prenatal labs and imaging. Educate patients on birth control options, family planning, pregnancy, and postpartum care. Assist in managing chronic conditions affecting reproductive health (e.g., PCOS, endometriosis). Support patients with infertility evaluations and treatment coordination. Provide urgent evaluations for early pregnancy complications or gynecologic emergencies. Participate in patient education and counseling, including lifestyle, nutrition, and wellness. Document all care in the electronic health record accurately and timely. Maintain clinical practice within scope of licensure and in compliance with organizational policies.Qualifications
Master’s or Doctorate degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program. If APRN was licensed prior to August 1, 1995, master's degree in nursing is preferred.Sanford is an EEO/AA Employer M/F/Disability/Vet.
