PIC Internship – Field Operations
Location: 1165 Mass Ave, Dorchester
Department: Field Operations

Overview:
This internship offers a hands-on introduction to the energy industry, supporting the Field Operations team. You'll gain valuable experience working with data, supporting business processes, what drives our performance in areas like safety, reliability, customer satisfaction, and more.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Help gather and organize daily, weekly, and monthly reports related to Field Operations performance in areas such as Safety, Reliability, Budget, and Customer Satisfaction.
  • Assist in updating and managing digital tools and apps that store and display performance data.
  • Review reports to help identify patterns or issues and support the team in suggesting improvements.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and share learning opportunities with team members.
  • Help create simple training materials and how-to guides for employees and management.
  • Participate in evaluating how certain tasks or processes are done and suggest ways to make them better.
  • Provide support during major storm events by helping track performance and response efforts.
  • Support communication between Field Operations and the IT team to ensure technology needs are met.
  • Assist in reviewing and recommending improvements to current programs and tools used by the team.
  • Work with experts from different departments to help solve ongoing performance issues.
  • Support efforts to track and resolve equipment problems, including helping coordinate different teams to fix issues quickly.
  • Job observations with crews working in the field.

Requirements:

  • Must be 18 years or older.
  • Must be a student and interested in exploring a career in the energy industry.
  • Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening.
  • Interest in working with data, technology, and team-based problem-solving.
  • Willingness to learn and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic skills in Excel or other spreadsheet tools.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work well with others and take direction from mentors and supervisors.
