Job Description:

The Senior Manager, A&D Functional Lead, is responsible for managing, orchestrating and directing all integration and separation activities for functional systems (Enterprise, Supply Chain, Commercial or R&D) associated with acquisitions and divestitures globally. The successful candidate for this role partners with J&J’s Supply Chain team, functional leaders, sector and enterprise technology leaders, the A&D Community of Practice, JJT A&D colleagues and target company employees to orchestrate the technology strategy and execution required in the functional area for planned acquisitions and divestitures.

 

This role operates across all J&J sectors and regions, providing deep subject-matter expertise and essential guidance, as well as helping to ensure a consistent approach, standards and architecture. A keen eye and continuous process improvement discipline toward a goal of flawless execution, superior deal value realization and increased agility are central to this role’s success. Strong influencing and cross-functional partnering skills are critical to securing and planning necessary resources for more than 20 deals annually. Industry and business knowledge is essential; understanding of current and legacy technology capabilities and their configuration within J&J is imperative.

Major Duties & Responsibilities

  • Serve as single point of contact to manage, orchestrate and direct all deal-related activities associated with Supply Chain systems, processes and workflows. Represent the JJT A&D team in all functional interactions and decision-making. Ensure robust communication and interaction across the cross-functional team, including target company leaders and employees, throughout the program lifecycle to help ensure deal value and minimize disruption.

  • Coach all Supply Chain Technical Product Owners and regional leads on standard approaches and ensure consistency across the sectors. Convey all technology requirements and priority timelines to Technical Product Owners and other partners. Ensure appropriate functional resourcing for all transactions.

  • Develop and recommend continuous process improvements to realize effective and efficient execution that maximizes deal value; implement lessons learned for each transaction; share and adhere to best practices. Address concerns and challenges proactively, fostering a collaborative and positive integration environment.

  • Act as the escalation point for all Supply Chain issues across all sectors and functions for all acquisition and divestitures transactions.

  • Determine relevant due diligence requirements, relative to Supply Chain

  • Communicate complex financial and operational information effectively to a diverse audience; enrich and support a culture of A&D across JJT.

 

Other Duties

  • Indirectly supervise other deal-focused resources; partner with A&D Deal Leads and Program Leads/Managers; regular interaction with both business and technology teams and other related functions. Serve as deal lead and/or functional leader for a different function should overall pipeline demand require it, as well as for career growth opportunities.

Required Qualifications

Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Finance, Business, Economics, or a related field

Business Experience: A minimum of 8 years of relevant experience managing large programs. Proven track record in leading complex transactions and cross-functional teams with executive presence. A minimum of two years of experience with acquisitions and divestitures, investment collaborations and/or licensing deals.

Technical Experience: A minimum of 8 years in a technology-focused role, working with multiple business functions and enterprise systems. Robust knowledge of enterprise and sector technology platforms and capabilities, as well as their strategic roadmaps and tactical plans.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Proven experience in Supply Chain management, with a focus on Acquisitions and Divestitures (A&D) of companies/assets, Licensing deals, or collaborations via investments

  • Proven track record collaborating across all levels of business and technology cross-functional teams to drive multi-year programs from inception through completion.

  • Experience in driving process design and process optimization within the Supply Chain processes.

  • Disciplined analytical and financial modeling capabilities; track record of financial forecasting accuracy for large, multi-disciplinary programs.

  • Highly adaptable and agile, with the ability to successfully drive results under tight deadlines while managing multiple programs, projects and dynamic priorities concurrently.

  • Able to shape ambiguity into concrete strategy and associated action.

  • Skilled problem-solver and cross-functional collaborator with a keen business mindset; able to drive win-win outcomes across functions, inclusive of business and technology areas.

  • Strong program and project management experience within the A&D discipline, as well as with supporting tools and methodologies.

  • Ability to effectively engage, lead and influence a cross-section of colleagues, stakeholders and leaders at all levels of the organization.

  • Outstanding relationship, negotiation and communication skills. Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex technical ideas and business strategy to diverse audiences.

  • Must be able and willing to be a steward of confidential, business-critical information and accept associated responsibilities and restrictions based on role.

  • Experience leading global programs; familiarity with unique geopolitical and regulatory aspects regionally.

  • Meticulous attention to detail.

  • Required 3 Years of People Management Experience

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred Minimum Education: Master’s degree

Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience with mergers, acquisitions and divestitures, particularly in the healthcare, life sciences or R&D industry.

  • Certified Supply Chain Professional, APICS

  • Green Belt Certified or 6 Sigma certified

  • Strong SAP and other ERP functional knowledge

The anticipated base pay range for this position is :

$120,000-$207,000
