Purpose: The Biophysics group within Biologics Discovery is committed to the delivery of high-quality drug candidates. The Senior Scientist position offers an exciting opportunity to join the team involved in developing and utilizing innovative technologies to characterize biophysical attributes of molecules throughout the discovery process, from initial hit generation to lead molecule selection. This role will specifically focus on the real-time characterization of interactions with cell surface targets, as well as determining epitope diversity and high throughput binding studies.

You will be responsible for:

• Design and perform real-time interaction cytometry assays to determine binding to cell surface targets.
• Conduct SPR binding analysis to determine binding and activity properties.
• Design and implement new techniques and strategies to study biophysical characteristics of assets and to optimize the Biophysics characterization workflow.
• Independently interpret and communicate the results to program teams and management.
• Function as a project team representative for the Biophysics group.

Qualifications / Requirements:

Education:

• Ph.D. in Biochemistry, Biophysics, Structural Biology, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or other related fields with 0-3 years postdoctoral experience or a minimum of 8-10 years of experience performing progressively advanced duties beyond a B.Sc. degree.
• Hands-on experience with cell culture is required.
• Deep understanding and hands on experience characterizing biomolecules using SPR techniques is required.
• Strong critical, scientific, and strategic thinking skills are required.
• Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage projects to meet timelines, are required.
• Expertise in characterization of interactions with cell surface targets/membrane proteins is preferred.
• Solid understanding of the fundamentals of antibody structure and function is desired.
• This is full-time laboratory-base role, based in Spring House, PA.
